We always provide an experienced engineer who is well-versed in recording, editing, mixing and mastering.

A good recording matters because it enhances the listening experience by delivering high-quality audio that captures the nuances of the music or speech. A well-recorded audio track has better clarity, definition, and balance, and is free from unwanted noises, or distortions. It also allows the listener to discern the subtle nuances of the performance, such as dynamics, timbre, and texture, which can be critical to fully appreciating the musical or spoken content. In essence, a good recording is essential for achieving the ultimate goal of audio production, which is to accurately capture and convey the intended message or emotion of the artist, speaker, or performer.

Mixing is important in audio production because it allows different elements of a song or track to be balanced, leveled, and combined in a way that creates a cohesive and polished final production. Good mixing enhances the audio quality, improves the clarity and separation of individual tracks and instruments, and elevates the overall sound to create a more professional and enjoyable listening experience.

Mastering is important for several reasons:

1. Level Balancing: Mastering helps balance the levels of the individual tracks in a recording, resulting in a consistent and cohesive sound across the entire album.

2. Enhancing Sound Quality: Mastering can enhance the overall sound quality of a recording by polishing it with equalization, compression, and other processing techniques.

3. Adjusting the Frequency Spectrum: Mastering allows for adjustments to be made to the frequency spectrum of a recording, making it sound better on different playback systems.

4. Preparing for Distribution: Mastering prepares the final audio files for distribution and ensures they meet the quality standards of various streaming services and audio formats.

5. Enhancing Emotional Impact: Mastering can help enhance the emotional impact of a recording by bringing out the full potential of instruments and vocals, making the listening experience more immersive and enjoyable.

All services we offer are done in session at the unbeatable price of $30-50/hr. You can dedicate as much of your session time to recording, or editing, or mixing, or mastering as you choose—all in the same session.

Recording a song could take 30 minutes for vocals or few hours or several days, depending on the number of takes required, the complexity of the song, and the experience of the singer. Some artists might spend weeks perfecting their vocals and recording multiple versions of the same song. Others may be able to nail their performance in just a few takes.

Mixing time will vary greatly depending on a number of factors—every song will differ greatly in complexity, the less complex, the quicker the mix will be. A good mixing engineer is usually able to offer a quick mix in the 20-40 minute range, an intermediate mix ranging between 1 hour to 3 hours and a full on mix which can take from 3 hours to a full day. When only mixing vocals a mix engineer can hit the bottom of that range, full instrumentation can take even longer than the top of that range for complex projects.

Our engineers can help you decide which option is best for you.

Mastering time will vary greatly depending on a number of factors—the quality of the mix being the biggest. A good mastering engineer is usually able to offer a quick master in the 15-30 minute range, a more in depth one in the hour range and full on one which can take from 2 hours to a full day.

Our engineers can help you decide which option is best for you.
